Offense
QB Roman Funk, So., Concordia (Wis.)
Funk brought it on Saturday in the victory at Aurora with a career-best 478 yards and seven touchdowns through the air. He also rushed for 22 yards and a touchdown. The seven touchdown passes are a program record, passing Aaron Nixon in 2015 and Herb Pundsack in 1992 at six. The 478 yards ranks third all time, and the 50 points scored is a program record. He completed 28 of his 36 pass attempts.
OL Lukas Maynard, Danny Sims, Jhonnyel Ramirez, Conner Coutinho, Noah Coppinger, Curry
These are the starting five on the Curry offensive line that helped break Montie Quinn free for his record-setting day at running back.
RB Montie Quinn, Sr., Curry
Quinn became the all-time single-game record-holder at any level of NCAA football when he ran for a whopping 522 yards on just 20 carries, resulting in seven touchdowns in Curry's 71-27 win against Nichols. His final carry came early in the fourth quarter and made it 57-27. Quinn's touchdowns went for 64, 30, 76, 84, 58, 2 and 85 yards.
RB Obadiah Butler, Sr., Centenary (La.)
Butler had a monster performance on Saturday in the Gents' 23-20 overtime win at Lyon as he rushed 17 times for 234 yards and two touchdowns. Butler, who also caught three passes for 18 yards, had TD runs of 70 and 80 yards and averaged 13.8 yards per carry.
WR Cole Crotty, Jr., Johns Hopkins
Crotty paced the Blue Jays in a 52-21 win against Ursinus with nine receptions for 228 yards and two TDs. His TDs covered 76 and four yards with the 76-yarder coming on the first play of the game. His 228 receiving yards are a personal best and the fourth-highest single-game total in program history.
WR Tyren Montgomery, Sr., John Carroll
Montgomery hauled in an impressive 12 catches for 120 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner over No. 11 DePauw with 14.4 seconds left and darkness descending on Greencastle, Indiana.
TE Cooper King, So., Illinois Wesleyan
King came up big for the Titans in a rivalry win at Millikin. King hauled in three catches for 50 yards, registering a pair of touchdowns in a 49-27 victory. It marks the first multi-touchdown game of his career, while his three receptions tied a career-high.
Defense
DE Zachary Gable, Sr., Pacific Lutheran
Gable did a little bit of everything in Saturday's 47-29 win vs. Pacific. Gable had three tackles for loss, two sacks, a forced fumble, an interception and a quarterback hurry. One of his sacks was a sack fumble that turned into a safety in the first quarter, swinging the momentum in favor of the Lutes.
DT Tyler Sordillo, Jr., Springfield
Sordillo registered four tackles, three sacks and forced a fumble on the defensive line for Springfield in a 24-10 NEWMAC victory at WPI on Friday night.
DT Chris Green, So., DePauw
Green totaled four solos and one assist in a 31-27 loss to John Carroll. Green recorded three tackles for losses totaling 14 yards, which included two sacks. He helped the Tigers hold John Carroll to just 39 rushing yards and 1.7 yards per carry.
DE Curtis Jaskulke, Sr., UW-Oshkosh
Jaskulke anchored a Titan defense that had four players with seven tackles in UW-Oshkosh's 28-21 homecoming win over UW-Eau Claire. Along with seven total tackles, he recorded four solo tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, and an 8-yard sack while hurrying the Blugolds' quarterback twice. Jaskulke had a tackle for loss and a hurry to force the Blugolds to punt in their first possession and stopped Eau Claire twice more on third down which resulted in another pair of punts.
LB George Kruger, So., Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
Kruger had a career-high 20 tackles, 11 solo, as CMS captured an overtime win over La Verne. He had seven of his tackles in the fourth quarter alone, as CMS came back from a 16-6 deficit to force the overtime. He also added 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
LB Gideon Cruver, Northwestern (Minn.)
Cruver had a big impact for UNW in its 21-3 victory at Minnesota-Morris. All four of the junior's tackles were tackles for loss, and he added two sacks and a forced fumble. He also stepped in to take over punting duties later in the game and booted a long of 49 and pinned one inside the 20.
LB Jacob Karkoska, Jr., Lebanon Valley
Karkoska led the Dutchmen to a big 34-14 victory at Widener with a career-high eight tackles. All eight of his tackles were solo stops. He had a 10-yard sack and led a strong defensive effort that allowed just 166 yards of total offense. The Dutchmen limited the Pride to 57 rushing yards and eight first downs.
CB Chase Shavey, Sr., Merchant Marine
Shavey made a major impact in the Mariners' 38-34 comeback victory over Salve Regina. He recorded a pivotal 55-yard interception return for a touchdown that gave the Mariners a 14-6 first-quarter lead, along with three total tackles and two pass breakups. His efforts helped anchor a USMMA secondary that forced three interceptions and limited Salve Regina to just 2-of-8 on third downs.
S Ferris Collins, So., Bowdoin
Collins sealed the Polar Bears' first win of the season with a pair of fourth quarter interceptions against defending NESCAC champ Wesleyan on Saturday. Collins' interception with less than seven minutes left in the contest led to a Bowdoin score pushing the Polar Bears' lead to 25-17. His second interception of the quarter came with 2:41 left and helped seal the win. In addition to eight tackles, Collins also forced a first quarter fumble deep in Bowdoin territory that was recovered by the Polar Bears.
S Da'Marion Morris, Jr., Mary Hardin-Baylor
Morris tallied 12 total tackles with one and a half tackles for loss. He made key stops on breakaway plays, keeping UMHB in the game in the Cru win over NAIA member Texas Wesleyan. Seven of his tackles were solo stops.
CB Colton Thorp, Sr., Brockport
Helping hold Alfred State to 13-for-35 passing with 109 yards, Thorp was credited with four pass breakups on the day. To go with a career-best showing defending the pass, Thorp also made a big hit for a solo tackle in space.
Special teams
K Matthew Berry, Jr., DePauw
Berry was 2-for-2 on field goal tries, including a 51-yarder which was the longest at DePauw since Tom Downham's school-record 54-yarder in 1987. He was also perfect on his one extra point attempt.
P Matt Worthington, So., Illinois Wesleyan
Worthington punted three times, averaging 50.7 yards per punt, in a win vs. Millikin. He pinned the Big Blue inside their own 20 once and notched a career-long punt of 71 yards. Worthington's 71-yard boot is second-longest in the CCIW this season and ranks tied for fifth all-time in IWU history.
RET Gianni DiSora, Fr., Westminster (Pa.)
DiSora returned a second quarter punt 83 yards for a touchdown in Saturday's 48-6 PAC victory over Thiel at Memorial Field inside Harold Burry Stadium. It is the second-longest punt return in Division III this season.
ST David Ballard III, Fr., North Central
Ballard blocked a North Park punt which went out of bounds at the North Park 3-yard line. North Central scored a touchdown on the very next play.
