    The Utica College football team scored 33 unanswered points and held visiting St. John Fisher College scoreless for the final 56:52 of the contest to earn a convincing 33-7 victory in Empire 8 Conference action at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium on Saturday afternoon.  The Pioneers have now defeated the Cardinals in two of their last three meetings and they also claimed the second annual New York State Tool Believe Bowl trophy as the contest was dedicated to firemen battling cancer and underprivileged children from the Thea Bowman House.

    The Utica College football team kicked off its 2017 season with an impressive 20-7 victory over visiting St. Lawrence University on Saturday night at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium. Utica did not trail the entire contest, holding the Saint scoreless for the first 53:43 of the game. Senior running back Nicodemus Gambill (Rochester, NY/East High) sparked the Pioneer offense with a career-high 161 yards rushing on just 16 carries and he also added two rushing touchdowns of 59 and 39 yards.

    The Utica College football team outscored host Hartwick College 27-9 in the second half to rally for a 52-40 victory over the Hawks in the regular season finale for both teams Saturday at Wright Stadium. The Pioneers have now won seven games for just the second time in program-history and will await a possible berth into next weekend's ECAC Bowl games. The ECAC Bowl game selections will take place on Monday.
