BALTIMORE, Md.  – Ninth-ranked Johns Hopkins University won its Centennial Conference record 34th consecutive league outing with a 54-14 victory over visiting Gettysburg College Friday night at Homewood Field.

Gettysburg (2-5, 2-4 CC) was unable to get its offense going in the first half, punting the ball away five times and throwing a pair of interceptions. Meanwhile, Johns Hopkins (7-0, 6-0 CC), which came in ranked seventh by the American Football Coaches Association and ninth by D3football.com, scored on six of its first seven possessions, including a pair of rushing touchdowns by Ryan Cary to start the game. The Blue Jays led 38-0 at the half.

The Bullets opened the scoring in the second half with a 15-play, 81-yard drive. Junior quarterback Justin Davidov (Ossining, N.Y./Ossining) posted 49 yards rushing and capped the drive with a four-yard plunge for his seventh rushing touchdown of the year.

Johns Hopkins scored on each of its next two possessions with a Drew Tomaini pass to Kyle Morris pushing the lead to 52-7 early in the fourth quarter.

Gettysburg used up just 77 seconds on the way to a touchdown on the ensuing drive. Junior Ty Abdul-Karim (Washington, D.C./Woodberry Forest (Va.)) hauled in a 37-yard heave from Davidov for his team-leading fifth receiving touchdown of the season. The extra point made it 52-14. The Blue Jays added a safety to close out the scoring.

Davidov posted 84 yards on 14 carries and completed four passes for 56 yards. Freshman Charles Clewis (Purcellville, Va./Woodgrove) picked up 40 yards on eight carries, while fellow first-year Timmy Schmelzinger (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) completed all three of his passes and totaled 31 yards on the ground.

Senior Jordan Kelso (Cookstown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) became the 12th Bullet to reach 1,000 career receiving with a 25-yard reception in the first quarter. Kelso finished with a team-best 38 receiving yards.

Sophomore Jake Skinner (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) led the Bullets with 13 tackles. Freshman Cole Keyes (Mount Laurel, N.J./Lenape) posted nine stops and a forced fumble, while junior Glenn Benson (North Plainfield, N.J./North Plainfield) finished with eight tackles and two pass break-ups.

Jon Germano finished 20-of-26 for 242 yards and a pair of touchdowns – all in the first half. He also added a rushing touchdown. Cary totaled 102 yards on 15 carries to go with his two scores, while Quinn Donaldson picked up 115 receiving yards and a touchdown. Jack Campbell paced the Blue Jay defense with a dozen tackles and an interception.
