HIRAM, Ohio -- Hiram College Director of Athletics Ellen Dempsey has announced that Henry Stanford has been named Head Football Coach and that David Price has been promoted to Associate Head Coach.

"Henry and David have played an integral part in Hiram's success these past few seasons," said Dempsey. "We feel that they are a great fit with this program and will keep it on the positive track."

Stanford, who will be the 30th coach in Hiram's 118 years of football, takes over for Randy Moore, who resigned his position in December.

Stanford joined the Terrier staff for the 2013 season as the Offensive Coordinator. He has helped engineer an up-tempo style that has broken four school record in the past two seasons.

Prior to Hiram, he served as the Head Coach at Capital and has also been an assistant coach at Elmhurst (Ill.), Tiffin, Kenyon, Otterbein, Ohio State and Capital.

Stanford will also continue his duties as Offensive Coordinator.

"I want to thank Ellen Dempsey, the football coaching staff, the team, my wife Leslie and my sons Warrick and Jerrick for their support," said Stanford. "I look forward to continuing the development of the football program and guiding it to a strong finish in 2016 and beyond."

Price recently completed his sixth season as a coach for the Terriers and his third as Defensive Coordinator.

He has helped transform the Hiram defense into one of the most feared in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

This past season, the defense broke a school record with seven sacks in a victory over Wooster on November 7. In 2014, the Terriers were ranked in the top-20 nationally in turnovers forced, which included forcing seven turnovers in a win over Denison.

"This is a tremendous opportunity," said Price. "I am excited to continue to watch the defense grow towards a championship level. I look forward to working closely with Coach Stanford and continuing the strong tradition of Hiram College football."

Price will also assume his role as Defensive Coordinator.
