McDaniel coach Mike Hoyt is out after four seasons at the helm of the Green Terror. McDaniel was 0-10 this past season and 3-37 under Hoyt's tenure.
Hoyt, a former Albright assistant coach, was hired in 2012 to replace Tim Keating, who had won 110 games at the school, but had two two-win seasons and a 1-9 year in his last five in Westminster, Md. Hoyt was unable to turn the program around.
The college provided a statement quoting athletic director Paul Moyer: “Mike’s commitment to our students and his personal involvement in preparing them to be leaders, not only on the field but in life after college, has been of great importance to our athletes. He will be especially missed by our student-athletes for his personal dedication and one-on-one mentoring. We thank him for that service.”
The Green Terror struggled over the past four seasons and have lost their last 19 games, dating to a Sept. 5, 2014, win at Catholic.
